Q: How to add a calendar subscription to iCloud.com calendar

For some reason, Apple's own support article on how to add a calendar subscription to iCloud.com doesn't work (iCloud: About subscribed calendars - Apple Support).

If I add a new calendar subscription in Apple Calendar, and then change it from "On My Mac" to "iCloud" it moves the subscribed calendar from the "On My Mac" section of my calendar to the "iCloud" section (as it should), but the subscribed calendar does not display on my calendar at iCloud.com. I've ensured that "Calendars" is checked in System Preferences and all my other calendars display just fine. Thanks for any suggestions.

Just noticed that all my iCloud calendars display just fine on my iPad Air, but they don't display on my iPhone 6. So the procedure works fine to add the iCloud calendars, but they're just not displaying on my iPhone.

Solved the mystery! On a whim, on my iPhone I clicked on my Apple ID in Mail, Contacts, Calendar and it asked me for my Apple ID password. Nothing actually happened, but after I did this, I looked at my iPhone calendar again and it was populated with all my iCloud calendars.
