How do i get rid of smart search engine?

You may have installed a variant of the "VSearch" ad-injection malware.

Triple-click the line below on this page to select it, then copy the text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:

/Library/LaunchDaemons

In the Finder, select

Go ▹ Go to Folder...

from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

A folder named "LaunchDaemons" may open. Look inside it for a file with a name of the form

com.something.daemon.plist

Here something is a variable word, which can be different in each case. It could be "cloud," "dot," "highway," "submarine," "trusteddownloads," or pretty much anything else.

There may also be a file named

com.something.helper.plist

in the same folder.

If you find files with names that fit the above description, post what you have for "something."

I have the same problem - I have:

com.pluto.helper.plist

com.pluto.daemon.plist

What I need to do to get rid of the annoying SmartSearch?

I have the same problem with smart search being on my computer. I don't know where it has come from.

I did the above and i had 4 files that i deleted but it still hasn't worked?

Can anyone suggest anything else?

Thanks a lot, I was going crazy for 2 days with this situation, although i kinda brought it to myself for installing weird programs to watch a series, better pay the netflix monthly fee than this lol

Thanks for the post on how to get rid of the annoying smart search, I've been repairing a friends computer and this was really annoying me!

the 2 files i had were called:

com.44ed5987ed4afbcd.daemon.plist

&

com.44ed5987ed4afbcd.helper.plist

Ive deleted them now so hoping that this "safe search" rubbish has gone
