Help required in creating basic league table in Numbers

Hi all

Could anyone help me in setting up a new sports league table, for 10 teams, where I can enter weekly results, points and shots scored, and have Numbers calculate the table for me (so that best team is shown in position one, down to position 10).

Hi Dave,

Is this what you are after?

Table 1 has a Header Row.

Formula in A2 (and Fill Down)

=RANK(C2,C,largest-is-high)

Club A is ranked 6th because it has the second lowest points.

Club F is ranked 1st because it has the highest points.

Club G is ranked 7th because it has the lowest points.

Hi Ian

Yes, that is exactly right. Also, when I add in the shots scores, they would also be calculated to determine league positions, in case of a points tie.
