Can I delete portions of data from iCloud?

I sync between my iMac and IPhone using iCloud. I'd like to stay within the 5G "free" iCloud storage limit. Is there a way i can delete portions of data from ICloud storage, e.g., old emails, unused contacts, old files, etc.? Will deleting such data from my iMac and/or iPhone accomplish this iCloud data reduction? If not, please advise. Thanks.

Hey James,

You can manage your storage of iCloud on either your Mac or your iPhone by going to either going to Apple menu > System Preferences, click iCloud, then click Manage on your iMac and Settings > iCloud > Storage > Manage Storage on your iPhone. Take a look at the article below for the best tips to keep a lean iCloud storage and how best to maintain that.
