book stuck downloading on iPad

I have verified that I can access ibook on my iMac as well as my iPhone 6. However my iPad with iOS 8 latest update only shows a book as downloading. I have attempted removing the book from list to by synched, restarted iPad and app etc but nothing seems to work. I am getting ready for a trip and really want to get the book onto my iPad.

Hi jimsliwa,

Welcome to the Support Communities! You should be able to download your purchased iBook directly to your iPad. Here's how:

Download past purchases - Apple Support
http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT2519

With iTunes in the Cloud, you can access your past purchases from the iTunes Store, App Store, iBooks Store, and Mac App Store.

Before you begin

  1. Sign in with the Apple ID that you used for the original purchase. Use these steps to see which Apple ID you used to download an item.
  2. See if the content is available for redownload. Previously purchased items might not be available if they're no longer on the iTunes Store. If you changed your Apple ID from one country to another, you can’t download items you purchased in a previous country.

If you're using Family Sharing, you can use these steps to download your family member's content.

Download previous purchases on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Make sure your iOS device meets these system requirements:

  • iOS 4.3.3 or later
You need iOS 5 or later to download items to iPhone (CDMA model).
  • iBooks 3.0 or later to download books

Books

Follow these steps to download purchased books:

  1. Tap iBooks. If you're using iBooks 3.2 or earlier, tap Store.
  2. Tap Purchased from the bottom navigation bar.
  3. Tap the book that you want to download.

If you continue to have issues with this particular purchase, click on this link:

Report a problem with an item purchased from the iTunes Store, App Store, Mac App Store, or iBooks Store - Apple Support

I hope this information helps ....
