Q: IOS will not find AirPrint printers

IIPAs Air 2 on current IOS version 8 will not find AirPrint printer HP 8600. Have restarted printer several times, restarted iPad Air 2 multiple times, turned wifi off, then on, etC and still iOS will not find Air Print printer.

iPad Air 2 Wi-Fi, iOS 8.1.2

    Hello edhusky,

     

    To troubleshoot this issue where your AirPrint preinter cannot be found, please follow the steps below.

     

    If you're unable to print

    Check these things if you are unable to print, or if you see the message "No AirPrint Printers Found."

    1. Make sure your printer has paper, and enough ink or toner installed.
    2. Make sure your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your iOS device.
    3. Make sure your printer has power and is turned on. Try turning your printer off and then back on again to see if it resolves your issue.
    4. Check to see if your printer has any error lights or indicators displayed on the printer's control panel. Check the documentation that came with your printer to clear any errors displayed.
    5. Check with your printer's manufacturer to see if any firmware updates are available for your printer. Check your printer's documentation or contact the printer vendor for more information. A firmware update may be available, even if you just bought your printer.

    Thanks Alex, but all those have been checked. AirPrint sometimes works but mostly doesn't. It is very hit n miss. Most of the times IOS will not find the AirPrint printer and a few times it does. It is not reliable.

    reseting the iPad, router, or printer doesn't always correct the situation. I was looking for a reason why this is happening and what foolproof method can be used to make IOS "see" the AirPrint printer.

    hello,

    i have the same problem with my Canon MG 5350.  I am starting to think it is an Apple problem while i am printing wireless with my asus laptop and dell desktop.  with my ipadmini and ipadair2 always no airprinter found, message. it seems not to matter what app is used from my apple products the printer, Canon Prixma MG5350 is randomly found but not on a reliable rate. same problem result as edhusky.  help some please.

    same Problem with HP 5520 Cups & Avahi on OpenSuse 12.2

    no Airprint in Network found by IOS 8.1.2 when comes bug fix?

    Hi I use an App from apps Cheers  store called Print Central on hp printer can print from ipod/ iPhone / iPad Been using this App for 2 years with no problems. Cheers Brian
