Q: iPhone calls using FaceTime on my Mac does not work. ever!

Ok, So I have tried absolutely everything. I have read all the blogs. I have restarted, re-signed in and out of all my accounts etc, etc, etc. I can not get my FaceTime to make or receive cellular calls. I can easily make them via my iPad. No Problem.

I have at one stage managed to make and receive them, but since I got my new iPhone 6 everything that used to be great is now ****!!!!!

The one time I actually managed to get it work I continued the conversation on my phone and since then, a hundred restarts later it doesn't work.

Everything else works fine, handoff, sms, emails, everything works fine except for the bloody FaceTime....

And no one seems to have a simple answer like maybe your internet ***** or Wifi is stuck or...

HELP or I'm throwing this lovely computer off a cliff

Cellular calling doesn't yet work reliably. Any improvement may only be temporary.

Make sure you've followed the instructions in this support article. Note that both iCloud and FaceTime on the Mac must be signed in to the same Apple ID; those are two separate steps. Also note that the Mac and the phone must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Ethernet won't work. Trying to pair the phone to the Mac as a Bluetooth device won't work either.

If cellular calling still doesn't work, sign out of FaceTime and sign back in. You may have to do the same on the phone. The email address that you use as your Apple ID must be able to receive FaceTime calls.
