Font issue: 1550 Regular

Hello everyone,

I'm currently having some very frustrating trouble with a font: 1550 Regular (the link is to dafont.com) : it doesn't show in my applications.

User uploaded file

What I'm working with:

  • MacBook Pro (Retina, 13", mi-2014), Intel Core i5 2,6GHz, 8Go 1600 MHz DDR3, Flash storage 120,15Go (40,32 available)
  • Pages 5.5.2
  • Microsoft Word 2011 14.4.7

What I've done:

  • I've downloaded a few fonts from dafont.com
  • Opened them, clicked "Install this font"

None of those fonts were available.

Restarted the computer.

All fonts available, except this one, 1550.

I've cleared the font cache (with FontNuke), validated the font (No problem detected. Using this font shouldn't cause any issue), deleted it, reinstalled it again, cleared the cache again, to no avail.

I have literally no idea what's going on. This is a .tff font, I can't see any difference with any other font (based on what the Font Book tells me)… frankly, I'm lost.

If it helps, one of my friends, running on Windows (don't know which one though) could use it with no problem.

Does anyone have any solution to offer?

Cheers,

Thouny

Yes I can! It just doesn't show in the >français category… Maybe that's the problem, hey! The font doesn't have French as language (and this is a French-made font… go figure).

Do you know how I can access it via Microsoft Word (I can't seem to find it in the list…), or how I could add French to the languages of the font (can I edit the .tff file?).

Thanks a lot for your answer anyway 🙂

Oh, no, it can of course do French. I mean, I can type a string of character that happens to be a French word, no problem. But it doesn't appear in the "French" category, in which Pages looks by default.

Maybe Word does the same, and that's why I can't find it with this software? But I don't know how to change this… :/ My Google-fu isn't strong enough, it seems…
