Does dropping the iPhone 6 on carpet damage the internal components inside it?

I dropped my iphone 6 of about 9 days old on the carpet each landing on the top it dropped vertically] 3 times in 15 minutes because I don;t have a case and it kept sliding off my lap from my desktop chair. What did I damage internally [if I even did] and what would it affect if it was damaged? And if the top is damaged internally what effects would come about?
