Q: Thunderbolt display is now displaying vertical lines running from top the bottom of my screen. Just appeared after I've had it on the 10 minutes out of nowhere. WHY!? Please Help...

I was on my computer for literally 10 minutes and then they just appeared, right in the middle of the screen. It has never been dropped, scratched, hit. It's barely been moved since I've bought it, probably just over a year, year and a half ago. I don't understand. This is just a bummer. Anyone have any ideas? How much it could cost to be fixed, worth fixing? …Just my luck IMG_0669.JPG

Not sure it is the TBD.  What Mac are you using?  I would also unplug the TBD from the wall and your Mac.  Wait 1-2 minutes and reconnect and see what happens.

I have the Mac mini, late 2012 version. 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7 processor, 4GB 1600 MHz DDR3 memory. I don't know much about it and no longer have the box. Yeah I know I'm a fail heh. But yeah, it's funny now that I've had the computer on sleep overnight, the lines went away this morning. I'm not TOO excited about it though, because more or less, expecting the lines to come back again because I've done nothing to fix the problem.

Yup, just as i typed the last of this, it came back. Sad day.

I also have the Mini but no issues.  Did you try to remove the power like I noted before?

Yeah I tried unplugging and replugging in, it stayed the same. When I have it on sleep for a period of time, and then turn it back on to use, it goes away for about 10 minutes, but then comes back up.

    TroDawg,

I'm interested if you found the solution to this issue. I'm having the same problem with my thunderbolt display-- vertical lines after few minutes of use. My source (2014 Macbook Air display, mirror settings) does not show the same issue.

    Thanks.
