There are many good charting programs for the Mac. You can do your spreadsheet work in Numbers and your Chart/Graph making in another app.


Google Charts for Mac and Graphs for Mac. Some have free trial versions.


Don't overlook the Numbers > Feedback channel to register your suggestion for a product enhancement.


Another way to make a Chart in Numbers that hides the fact that the axis is inverted is to use a mono-spaced font, Number System format, and then cover the minus signs with a white rectangle, as I have done here.
