Q: Disk Utility says I am using 131gb of SSD; Finder says I am using 38gb?
Getting two different reports of how much space I am using up in my SSD; DU says one thing (the number doesn't change when I clean up files mind you), and using the Finder's info window, I get a much smaller number (this number does change when I delete data from the drive)
See screen captures:
Also, when I first plug in Time Machine, it tries to back up ~120gb, over 3X the volume that the Finder info window reports being on the drive!
Would so appreciate some guidance/explanation of what might be going on and what I might need to do about this (if anything)!
Thanks
MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2009), OS X Yosemite (10.10)

The extra space is being taken up by Time Machine snapshots which haven’t been moved to the external drive. Connect it and let Time Machine finish.
