share iTunes library with other users on Yosemite

I have created my user account (Admin) and imported all my music into iTunes from my previous PC

The user account was the only account on the MacBook Pro (running Yosemite) and the music was imported into the folder /Users/mikepoole/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media

I want to create a second user account for my wife (Standard). When she logs on, there is no music on the iTunes.

How can I make MY iTunes directory and contents available to her user account?

You could set up two completely separate libraries and share music via Home Sharing

Hi, I have a similar question please : I have 2 iTunes files, iTunes Media and iTunes music, each about 54 Gigs, and for a toal of 108 Gigs, which is too much and too big for my 250 Gigs Macbook Pro...

My question : how could I liberate the space and only have 1 file of 54 gigs space please? Thanks 🙂

Hi There- I see so many people on message boards reference the above article titled, "iTunes: How to share music between different accounts on a single computer" but the article does not seem to exist any longer. Does anyone know if there a way to do this? Any help would be appreciated!

I am having the same problem on my iMac running 10.10.4 I am trying to set up an account for my wife as a standard user and it wont recognize itunes or access some apps? I tried sharing the folders, no go. In iTunes preferences enabled share entire library, still not working, Tried home sharing no luck. I have had 5 macs but never set up an another account yet and getting frustrated, along with no help I can find online?

Any help would be appreciated. I yearn for the old days..........
