Q: How to get the OS X 10.10.1 YOSEMITE Software to understand that HW is connected/install drivers withouth the device connected?
My TV was connected and working as it should earlier to day.
Then i restarted my macbook air (which has been updated to OSX yosemite 10.10.1). When i tried to access the tv again it failed to recognise the unit. The macbook screen blinked when the cable was unconnected and reconnected and that was it. I started going through you FAQ. 3 hours later and about 123971243*10^1233123 restarts later, I still have not been able to figure it out.
What i did find is that: I have FWversion 23,6 and Port firmware version for connection controls: 0.12.3..... and since the highly ingenious thunderbolt update needs a display unit to be connected in order to work, it led me to consider buying a windows based computer...(it would be easier to get a HDTV to work with win 3.11)... So here is the milliondollar question: HOW DO YOU REINSTALL DRIVERS FOR THE THUNDERBOLT UNIT WITHOUT REINSTALLING THE OS, and where do i find them? or how do i force Yosemite to discover Thunderbolt units without updates?
(And why is your FAQ constructed to give the impression that all you need to solve any problem is to connect you device and restart your mac?)
