Hello everyone,
I just bought a Mac Mini a few weeks ago and every time I turn on my mac the keyboard is disconnected. Is this a normal thing for Mac's? I already checked if it needs batteries but that's not the problem. Also, every time I try to reconnect it says failed to connect.

Yes it a BT KB, running OSX Yosemite. I already did some troubleshooting and no luck whatsoever, I am thinking its a defective keyboard?
Could be. What do you do to reconnect it?
Either Press the power button at least 10 times because it keeps failing or take out the batteries and reset.
Do you have another computer or KB to try?
Does a Apple KB work on PC? that's the only way I can test it out.
Try disconnecting all peripheries.
You could try deleting the bluetooth plist file. That might work.
With Finder active, hold the Option key down and click Go in the menu bar. Select Library.
In Library scroll through to Preferences and look for the file called: apple.BluetoothFileExchange.plist
Move this file to the desktop, and restart the computer.
You will have to "pair" the mouse once again.
Every time I turn on my Mac Mini my keyboard needs to be reconnected.
