Q: kernel_task memory usage high

I've read through several of the posts already, but I'm no expert at this. Here's my EtreCheck info... just wondering what I can safely uninstall to get the memory usage down/see an analysis of my system.

Problem description:

kernel_task is using more memory than I’d care for it to

The OSX controls RAM usage.  With Mavericks, in order to increase efficiency, the OSX will try to use as much RAM as is available.  The new parameter to monitor is  'pressure'.  If it is in the green, your good.  If not, then look where there may be problems.  Pleas read this:

How much? Why do you care how much memory it uses?

I've been suffering with this problem for ages, it's a massive drain on the CPU.  Coincidentally I had also been using google chrome and had noticed 'google chrome helper' to be taking up CPU time.  So I uninstalled google chrome and hey presto! I now have a functional MBP again, kernel task is usually <2% CPU.  There must be something seriously buggy in the google chrome setup... Anyway, this might help some of you guys.

    Good luck.
