Thank you for the answer, but unfortunately that is the page I was referring to. It states I can find the item in my StartupItems folder, but I cannot find that folder. anywhere. Do you know where I can find it? It's not located in my library folder.

ApplicationsBack up all data.
Triple-click the line below on this page to select it, then copy the text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
/Library/StartupItems
In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

Thank you for your quick and detailed explanation I thought I had to write it like this in from the Go menu: ~/Library/StartupItems - thats why I couldn't find it. It worked! Grazie mille!
