Itunes 12.0.1 keeps setting the preferences for "Warn me if iTunes is not the default player for Audio Files"

Can someone help me out here? I am trying to configure iTunes on our lab workstations, I finally have it tweaked out, save one setting. Whenever I uncheck the "Warn me if iTunes is not the default player for audio files" and close iTunes, and reopen-It comes back. This will be annoying because we want media player to be the default player for audio, another warning window pops up.

Can Anyone Help???

The problem remains in 12.2.2.25. This is very annoying. Normally I get rid of annoying apps, but sadly that's not possible in this case. Please provide a solution.
