Hey,

Thnx for your reply. 🙂 I came across the following page, a RAM buying guide for apple products. It claims that the Macbook Pros do support 32GB RAM. I guess I'm looking for some confirmation on these claims. The specs you just mentioned are totally different. It only shows how important it is to check multiple sources. Thank you again for sharing. I will keep looking for more advice regarding this subject until I get multiple confirmations from more sources. If you could explain me where you obtained this knowledge it might help me draw my final conclusion faster.

Greetings

You may check Apple specification for the given model MBP that you have, Crucial and OWC as sources for RAM information.

I do note the mention of 32 GB RAM but I note an absence of any specific RAM vendors. They specifically only mention 4 GB and 8 GB RAM modules.

I am not aware of any 16 GB 204 pin RAM modules that are commercially available at this time. If you do, please let me know.

Ciao.

The only set I can find is the Crucial CT2C16G3R186DM and it seems like they match the specs but I can't find the product on the manufacturer's site using this product code. Apple gives very limited info on upgrading RAM. Maybe Apple says late 2011 models only support 16GB to avoid confusion among customers with MBP 2011 models with different processors. It would be such an Apple thing to do but its just an assumption which could explain the different specs I came across. When I use the RAM selection wizard on the crucial site I do end up at 16GB max. Thank again for your reply.
