How to clear out "other" section. Deleting texts made it worse!

When I synced my phone, my "other" section was at 2.15 gigs. I tried finding the solution online and went "alright, well maybe deleting text messages will help". I did so, and it made the usage increase to 3.33 gigs! How can I clear this out? I'd really like to have some more room on my phone 😟

Greetings AmyAnnihilation,

It sounds like you have an increasing amount of "Other" storage on your iPhone.

Normally, this category would contain data such as "Settings, Siri voices, and other system data" according to this support article:

See how much storage you've used on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

Since you have an unexpected amount of data categorized as Other, I'd recommend backing up your iPhone, restoring it to factory settings, and then restoring from the backup.

You can find detailed steps for backing up and restoring your iPad here:

Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings - Apple Support

This will erase the storage on the device, including any content or files that should not have been saved as "Other" data.

Best Regards,

Jeremy
