How do i reset my imac if a grey loading bar appears and it wont boot
when I power on my Imac a grey loading bar appears and loads for about ten minutes and when it is finished loading it shuts off.

I keep seeing videos on YouTube that say you can reset it back to the factory settings.
Reinstalling the OS may not solve your problem; I'd suggest you first go through all the troubleshooting steps outlined in the linked Apple article.
