my screen won't move between the two. It stays frozen on the fist screen

My nano screen will only stay on the first screen. How do I un-freeze it to move between the two?

Did you try to reset the device?

iPod nano

7th generation: Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button until the screen goes dark. The Apple logo should appear after a few seconds, then the Home screen should appear.

6th generation: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and Volume Down button simultaneously for at least eight seconds or until the Apple logo appears. You might need to repeat this step.

If the above step didn't work, connect your iPod to a power adapter. Then, plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect your iPod to your computer. Make sure that the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep. Reset your iPod while it is connected to power.
