how do I find printer IP address of printer?

My HP C7250 printer suddenly had disappeared from my printer list, and is not listed when I click the ADD button. I have restarted everything, but no luck. I have tried some of the suggestions in the Discussion groups, but nothing works. One suggestion was to paste the IP address of the printer into the add printer dialog box. but if the printer is not listed, there seems to be no way to determine the IP address!

I am running OS 10.9.5 on an early '08 iMac

no way to determine the IP address

Do you have an ethernet cable to connect the printer to your router? I can ask my router for the IP of my printer when it is connected that way.

Open a browser, type in the IP of your router. Ask the router what devices are on the network. Mine looks like this:

When I click the Network icon it shows the IP of everything connected.

I think this problem started when I upgraded to OS 10.9 but I don't know if that led to the problem. Another issue is the HP scanner software no longer works. I suspect that HP decided to discontinue support on the printer. I'm thinking I will no longer support HP, and will buy another brand in the future.

My question should of read "Have you check the Printer that it is still connected to your WiFi router"? In the diagnostic report you posted it said WiFi (Wireless) DISABLED.

Until you check that the printer is still connected to your WiFi you can't assume it is a Mac OS X problem. OS X can't connect to a network printer, either by WiFi or Ethernet, if that printer is Not connected to the same Local area network.

You have to go to the printer and find out why the WiFi system on the printer is disabled. Whether it is a setting or the WiFi chip has failed.
