Imovie edit titles font size, blocked

I understand that you would like to edit the size of the font of titles in iMovie. Please use the information in the attached link to assist you in editing your titles’ font sizes.

Format a title

1. In the timeline, double-click the title you want to change.The playhead moves to the point where you clicked, and the title appears in the viewer. The first editable text field in the title is highlighted for editing.
2. Do any of the following:
   • To change the font: Choose a font from the Font pop-up menu.To choose from additional fonts using the OS X Fonts window, choose Show Fonts (the last option) from the Font pop-up menu.
   • To change the size of the text: Choose a font size from the Size pop-up menu, to the right of the Font pop-up menu.
   • To change the alignment of the text: Click one of the text alignment buttons.
   • To make the text bold: Click the Bold button.
   • To make the text italic: Click the Italic button.
   • To make the text appear with an outline: Click the Outline button.
   • To change the color of the text: Click the color well, and select a color from the Colors window.
   Note: Some title styles have elements that can’t be changed; in these cases some title settings may be disabled.
3. When you’re satisfied with the changes, click the Apply button in the title controls.

iMovie 10.1.2 with El Capitan

I discovered, after much annoyance when attempting (and too long failing miserably) to edit a title slide by changing the text size, font, etc. - that when I made certain the text I just modified was highlighted (selected) before clicking the "check" to apply changes, it worked! When I did not have the newly modified text selected, it continued to go back to the original settings. What a relief to know how to make these changes stick. By the way, I usually use the "Centered" title slide option.
