how to sync contacts and outlook for mac contacts?

good day, so far all the answers I get are in the way that this is not possible. There has to be a way, it will be kind of awkward if I need to start syncing manually all my contacts

I need to have the contacts that I periodically add in my iphone, to be on my macbook, specifically on my outlook, because when I send an email, if it is not in the outlook contacts, I will need to look for it everywhere and that is not efficient.

Any ideas please? this is getting really frustrating, I am starting to doubt my purchase of my macbook...

This is an old post, but syncing Mac Outlook with Google Contacts is still an issue. I'm stuck working with Outlook 15 with no sync. It will seem crazy but my solution was to sync on my phone, not my laptop. I downloaded the ContactMover app and if you have contacts enabled for both Gmail and Exchange you can sync any way you want - even automatically. Works perfectly for me. Good day!!

I am not looking for that, the problem is that my outlook contacts in my laptop are not syncing with the contacts in the iphone. though if I add a contact in the iphone, it will be updated or added accordingly in the contacts app in my laptop, but that is not what I need.

what happens is that whenever I add or modify contacts in my iphone, this usually happens with a client, and this has to be updated in my outlook, as that is my main email client, otherwise I would be doing updating that does not need to be done.....

is there a way to sync the contacts in the outlook program with the contacts app in the laptop?

I spent several weeks battling this exact issue and finally admitted defeat. Until Microsoft adds support for CalDav (and the one for contacts which I am not remembering at the moment), you will only be able to sync if you use MS Exchange.

I am a 365 subscriber, so I signed up for a trial to update my subscription to the Busines version, went through the hassle to ge Exchange set up, spent a few days fiddling with it and maybe 2 hours on the phone with MS support and was utterly amazed at how poor the support was... and finally gave up.

IF you have an IT person who can set you up with MS Exchange, go for it and bask in the glory of being able to sync. If not, then periodically export all your contacts to the Mac Contacts app and sync that... and just forget about syncing your calendar. With luck, maybe MS will add CalDav (and the one for contacts which I am not remembering at the moment) to Outlook for Mac and save us weary Mac users. Or better yet: Perhaps someday a robust email/calendar/contacts app for the Mac will come along to compete with Outlook. The day that happens, we can run like ****! Until then... just try to not let it **** you off too much.

I guess life is not fare!!!

But... I have been really upset about this and happened to come across a post that makes sense, MS does not want users being able to use the full potential of outlook in a mac, because they will leave windows plattforms and come running to mac computers.. maybe true, maybe not, but....

as for the email stuff, I have also given in. but...

I found mailmate, it seem to be a very good mail client but I stil have to overcome way too many problems, basically that I needed all my email in IMAP format as it only works with IMAP not POP3.

so in the meantime I am juggling along outlook and mailmate and deciding if it is worth the change, so far I am not sure, the support from the mailmate guys is amazing, but the software keeps me tied and the small things are really tiring me..

Of course they do, and they provide it in the shape of Microsoft Exchange

If you want to use Outlook use the correct services for it.
