Q: scanner driver

I just updated to Yosemite.  I have a Canon canoscan 9950F scanner that connects directly to the computer (mac mini).  The canon site has no scanner driver for Yosemite; it says to check Yosemite.  When I try to add the scanner to scanners and printers, that scanner does not show up in the menu and I cannot add it.

Any suggestions as to how to proceed to be able to use the scanner?

Mac mini, OS X Yosemite (10.10.1)

    Hi Quizas,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

I understand that you have a Canon CanoScan 9950F that your Mac does not recognize as a scanner. I realize how frustrating situations like this can be as well when a feature you had been using no longer functions. In this situation, in the attached article, the Canon 9950 printer software is no longer available through Software Update and it may be necessary to contact Canon. Please use the attached article for further information.

Thanks for your reply.  I had previously called canon and their solution was to buy a new scanner.  I was hoping someone knew of a work-around.  I do have an old iMac with an older OS so will try to use that.
