How do I get my projector to display what my Macbook Pro has on the desktop (AKA a movie)? I have it connected with a VGA cord. The laptop displays the movie but the projector doesn't.

What does the projector show?

You also don't tell us which OS you're running.

Here's how to manage the displays:

If your projector is showing a desktop, you are probably on extended desktop. Either determine where your monitors are arranged or turn on mirroring.

You can move the projection window to the projector desktop if you are on extended desktop.
