Fuzzy Preview

If I open several pictures (JPG) with Preview at the same time, they show up in the "drawer" to the right or left of the viewing screen. As I click on each thumbnail in the drawer in turn, a new image appears in the viewing screen, at first really sharp and clear, then after a moment, the software seems to adjust it and it becomes slightly fuzzy. Is there a way to prevent this adjustment?

Hi Marc,

Have you tried deleting the .plist (preference file) for Preview? You can find this in ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Preview.plist (where ~ represents your Home folder).

Not sure if this will cure your problem but a good place to start to troubleshoot.

Remember, this will return Preview to its default settings in its Preferences so you will have to reset any user set preferences there. These settings are found in its Preview Menu>Preferences.

Let us know if this has any effect on the problem,

littleshoulders, I tried deleting the plist file but it did not change the appearance of Preview.

big smith, the shift that takes place -- from clarity to fuzziness -- feels very much like the graphics card is trying to "round off" the images. If this can be turned off, that would be great, but the Preview preferance panel does not offer that option.
