Sprint Treo 700p Internet

I've been searching around Sprint, cell phone message boards, Palm, and here for an answer as to how exactly I use my Palm Treo 700p as an internet connection using EVDO.

From my understanding it will only work via bluetooth with the mac, which I'm ok with. I only intend on using this feature minimally, and just "want to know, so that I know" when I need to use it.

Has anyone set this up, or know how to get this working? Do I really need to pay for that "additional" wireless plan on top of my current power vision plan?

For those of you that have done this successfully, or understand it, I would truly appreciate your help!

Thanks!

I have a Treo 700p Sprint PCS, and have done the whole nine yards. You can use the 700p as an EVDO modem (tether) using whichever connection method you prefer -- Bluetooth or USB. USB requires a little piece of software called, "USB Modem". Bluetooth is more limited by effective data rate, which is why I prefer USB. Unfortunately, USB 2.0 does not exist on the 700p, so you'll need to settle for USB 1.0... If I remember correctly, the procedures can be found in the forum discussion on everythingtreo.com. There's a bunch of folks who have been through this already, which should include my posts as well... BTW, yes you will require a "stand alone" data plan on Sprint PCS -- around $40/mo. Take a look there, and let me know if you need more help.
