UConnect 8.4 won't support messaging with iPhone 6

Once you bring up your Bluetooth screen it should list all your connected devices and there should be an entry for UConnect. There is an info button to the right of that entry, click on the info button and then you should see the Show Notifications option.

It might be worth trying to go through the pairing procedure again. On your iPhone do a Forget Device for UConnect and also remove your phone from UConnect (not exactly sure off hand how to do that). Then try to pair again, making sure you use UConnect to scan for your iPhone (and not the other way around). If that doesn't work, I would use the Assist button to call UConnect (they told me I could call them for any issue with the vehicle when I registered). Good luck.

Thanks for the reply, but I did what you described and that option doesn't exist on my 6S. Thanks anyway.

Some have reported recently that if you go into Settings > Bluetooth > click the info button next to your UConnect device you'll see a 'Show Notifications' switch. Turn it on and see if it helps. I tried it on my 2012 Ram but it didn't work so no guarantee this will work on yours.

I found that doing the above enables the message notification which you can "Listen" but the reply button is grayed out so it's a one way conversation unless you can ask Siri to 'text name' and say your message, then send.

Yes this did work. I sent a text message this am through my Uconnect 8.4 (2016)! I did find out that Apple does support Bluetooth Map. I also have an Iphone 6. Not sure if older Uconnects or Iphones work but I'm happy to say that I can do it now with the above fix. Thank you!!

My messaging worked in my 2015 Dodge Ram limited. Version 16.16.13 with my iPhone 6 Plus. When I got the iPhone 7 plus. It stopped working :/

I just bought a Jeep on steering wheel if you hold down voice button (it's between call answer and call end buttons) Siri wil come on and you can send voice text through her. But not sure if you can listen to received msgs through it. I believe it uses Apple car play, not sure if it will work with all iPhones I have iPhone 6.

I don't see an "allow notifications" button on the info screen of my blue tooth section in settings. I have an iPhone 6S and a Dodge Uconnect 8.4. Any ideas?
