Synology NAS Drives Unmounting Unexpectedly
I recently purchased a Synology DS214 NAS and after setting it up I went to bed thinking things were great. I got up in the morning only to discover that the drive had unmounted and that iTunes lost connection to its library. I've researched various utilities and all of them seem to be very old and not updated for one or more years. That doesn't mean they will not work, but I'm not going to waste money in the app store or otherwise to find out. Is there any other way to automount network drives and to make sure they re-mount if disconnected? Automatically. I also read some information that something in OS X will do this, but that in Yosemite (like many other things unfortunately) is broken.
So basically how to do keep network drives mounted ALWAYS and have your Mac re-mount them as needed? I'm using a Mac Mini Server it is set to never sleep, I did see that I had the option to put HDD's asleep when possible. I've unchecked that. I don't know if that will make a difference since the NAS isn't a device the Mac can control for energy savings.
