- If you have an external CD reader: use it...
- if you have another PC or Mac which has a CD reader: Use the CD or DVD drive from another computer with your Mac - Apple Support
- if you have another mac with a CD drive: install Aperture on the older mac, then copy the App to your new mac.

Jan 17, 2015 6:53 AM in response to clemfromplacentiaby Frank Caggiano,What OS version is on the new Mac? Assuming it is Yosemite you will need to upgrade to 3.6 which is only available from the Mac App Store.
There are a number of posts here describing how to upgrade from the DVD licensed version to the MAS licensed version. Basically you will need to contact Apple supply your license (and if the 3 you have is an upgrade the original license for 2 and possibly 1 depending on what you upgraded from) and you will be given a code ti use un the MAS to get 3.6 free of charge.
When Mavericks came out all user who had DVD versions of Aperture were given the option to download from the MAS store. Once Yosemite came out this option was removed thus requiring the call to Apple.

Jan 17, 2015 7:55 AM in response to clemfromplacentiaby léonie,i bought Aperture back in 2009 (came in a box with DVD installation disk).
If you really bought Aperture in 2009, it must be Aperture 2 and not Aperture 3.
Aperture 3.0 was released on February 9, 2010.
If you only have an Aperture 2 license, you will need to purchase Aperture 3 and cannot update to Aperture 3.6, because going from Aperture 2 to Aperture 3 is a major upgrade.
But if you indeed own an Aperture 3 installer DVD, and you are running Mavericks on the Mac and have not yet upgraded to Yosemite, you could use Disk Utility and burn a disk image of the installer DVD. Then copy this disk image to your new Mac and run the installer there. You can update to Aperture 3.4.3 from the Apple Support downloads page. This will work with Mavericks, but not with Yosemite.
