I have a reconditioned Apple iPad 16 GB WiFi iso ist generation tablet. The charget that came with it worked for a little while but now it says it is not the correct charger. I am wondering if the charger is no longer working or if it really is the correct one. It looks like the 30-pin that connects to the plug. Can anyone help me.

Get a flashlight and a magnifying glass and look for dirt/debris on both the iPad connector and the cable and clean if necessary. While doing that you can also see if any pins are damaged.
We recommend you use the official apple Charger, if it didn't come with the refurbished iPad, you can buy it at the Online or physical Apple Store.
You will need to make a Genius Bar appointment prior to taking it in unless you want to hang around the store for a few hours.
Hopefully it hasn't be damaged. Check the charger port for signs of dirt/dust/debris. Also check the 30 pin connector.
Note: the 30 pin connector will fit properly in one direction only.
If you are attempting to charge the iPad using the USB port on your computer, it most likely won't charge. The USB ports do not provide sufficient current. Do you have the power adapter that shipped with the iPad? If so, this would be the preferred method to charge the iPad.
As you can tell I am a novice. I am 70 yrs old and trying to keep up with technology. I have the whole thing, the plug and the cable that goes into the iPad and also comes out of the plug and goes into the computer. When the whole thing is conected to the iPad and pluged in it won't charge.
No I figured that out. I have what I mentioned above and it had charged it before that is why I am confused. The whole thing is connected to the iPad not the computer. The part that goes into the iPad was a little difficult to insert so I am wondering if I damaged it some how.

They do not charge for the appointment. If you chose to have work done that is not covered by warranty, you will have to pay. They will advise you of the cost prior to doing anything.

No, it is a 30 pin connector. Are you referring to the charger, i.e. the device that plugs into a wall outlet, or the sync/charging cable that goes from the charger to the iPad?
