refurbished ipad and applecare
can I add applecare to refurbished ipad bought from non-apple seller?

thanks for the quick response. I need to clarify, I haven't bought it yet (so I don't have a serial number to use the checker you linked to), I'm thinking of buying one and if I could add the applecare+ to it I would feel so much better about it, but I don't know if I can do that.
Ah, now you asked about Apple Care + but your first post asked about Apple Care.

As it says at the bottom, you either need to bring the iPad to an Apple Store and have it inspected, or telephone the number shown and have it undergo a remote diagnostic.
And this must be done within 60 days of purchase.
My understanding is that it's exactly like new one. Obtain AppleCare at the time of iPad purchase or within 60 days of iPad purchase.
The above is true for a new iPad. I do not know if it would be valid for a refurbished one. I suggest you call that number and ask.
