IPod touch 5 battery problem...

Hello everyone,

I bought a 32GB iPod touch for my wife in September 2014. From the first use we noticed a problem. After warning of 20% of battery, the iPod stopped almost automatically. In addition a recharging only took half an hour, instead of the four hours listed on the site.

We then contacted Apple in early January. the operator advised me to make a restore of the iPod. Without any success. After a second call, Apple told me that he had to send it back. Five days later, I received a new device.

And there again ... The iPod battery shows 20% and turns off too quickly. New fast recharge (about 90 minutes).

From there, I began to closely check our usage. The other day my wife sees the alarm 20% on its screen, performs a Facetime audio only about ten minutes, listening to 30 minutes of music she sent on a bluetooth speaker. No alarm 10%, nor 5% like on the iPad. The iPod turns off.

When restarting after 3 minutes charging via USB, I note that the battery is already charged to more than one quarter. After half an hour, it is recharged to more than a half.

I look into battery settings. It indicates 6h30min of usage and 2j23h on standby. It is crazy, an iPod battery can not last 6:30 it is not enough!

Would I received a second failed device?

So, I do not know what to do, I wanted to buy an iPod touch myself but as my wife's one seems to malfunctune...

I contacted Apple Support a third time. The counselor did not seem to be a iPod specialist. She advised me to search the forums but I have also been told we could send it back once again. What do you think? What should be the performance of an iPod touch battery material?

Thanks in advance guys.

The batter indicator is not accurate n an iPod. It is a lot better oh an iPad and iPhone because of their larger batter capacity.

How muck run time do you get after charging for at least 4 hours? 5 hours of video playback seems to be the norm
