NVidia 8800 GT - what monitor works with it?

I have a MacPro 1,1 which is running Mavericks 10.9.5. I have upgraded the video card to an NVidia 8800GT, with 1 GB of memory. Currently I am using a Philips 222EL 21" monitor at a 1920x1080 @ 60 Hz resolution. I am looking to upgrade the monitor to something larger and with more resolution. However, I am not sure which is the proper monitor to get, my 8800GT has two DVI ports.

What am I supposed to look for, in the technical specifications of a monitor? For example, I have found a Philips monitor (the brand is well-represented in my country), which reaches 3840 x 2160 p. resolution. It features the following input connectors: USB 2.0 x 2, USB 3.0 x 2, VGA, DVI-Dual Link, DisplayPort 1.2, MHL-HDMI.

I know that the 8800GT will go up to 2560x1600. Will that monitor run at 2560x1600 if I connect it to one of the DVI ports that the card has?

Any help in selecting the proper monitor will be greatly appreciated.

P.S.: The system will be used to edit pictures using Aperture, Adobe PS etc, as well as for light video editing (I am not very much into video).

Again, many thanks for your time.
