Restoring to SSD RAID Need Help

I am running into an issue with restoring my computer to an SSD raid. the raid is made up of two sands 128gb drives in a striped configuration. when i try to restore from a time machine backup i get an error related to not being able to create a recovery partition. When i try to restore from a copy of the drive that has been built on another HDD, i receive the error 32-broken pipe. Please advise.

Mac Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10)

Have you seen this Apple help doc about creating RAID stripe for OS X installing? It talks about the inability of creating recovery partitions on RAID volumes and the creation of a separate recovery disk before the creation of the RAID array:

How to install OS X Server using a software RAID volume on a Mac mini - Apple Support

and it also refers to:

OS X: About Recovery Disk Assistant - Apple Support

and also refers to:

OS X: "Some features of Mac OS X are not supported for the disk (volume name)" appears during installation - Apple Suppo…

Good luck...
