My iPhone 5s is running on apples latest software. Everything works well, but when I take or make a phone call my internet cuts off completely. This problem has become really annoying so I would like to know how to fix it.

This depends on your cellular carrier. As this article states, CDMA carriers do not support simultaneous voice and data on iPhone.

So if your cellular carrier uses CDMA, you would have to be on a WiFi network to use the internet.
