"others" occupying too much space in memory

My macAir has 250 GB memory of which "others" occupies 85 GB of space. All others like music photos occupy far lesser. I can't find/locate where these files arena what these files are. These are the largest "usage"/occupier of my disk space. How to find these files and clean out redundant files so that I have space left in my computer.

Mac mini, Mac OS X (10.6.8)
