Multiple audio outputs.

I have purchased a small basic usb sound card for my macbook to set up as a secondary audio output for use with some dj software I have on my macbook Pro.

I basically need the os to see two separate sound outputs on my system, but at this stage I can't afford to purchase a full DJ specific audio interface to do the job.

I want to use the usb sound card as a secondary output for a set of headphones that i want to use to preview tracks. I ma sure this could also be useful in garageband too.

I have done some research online and believe that it has something to do with setting up an aggregate device, but I can't seem to get the setup correct to make it work.

Any assistance would be appreciated..

If you need only multiple destinations, then you don't need to make an aggregate device. Create a Multi-Output Device in the "Audio MIDI Setup utility" (located in the Utilities folder inside the Application folder.

Add any Audio Interface to it. You can rename it if you want and then select that device in the GarageBand Preferences as your Audio Device.

Here is an experts from my manual "GarageBand X - How it Works" where I explain the app a little bit more.

Hope that helps
