Hi. I have diagonal stripes on screen, they are kind of transparent gray and are visible on light colored background.
Diagnostic test doesn't find anything. It happened on Mavericks and after upgrading to Yosemite nothing changes. They are still there.
Tried to change resolution also, no results. MacBook Air (13-inch, Mid 2013)
Any advice would be appreciated.

Do you think you damaged your screen? Like hitting it on somthing or somthing hitting it?
No. Nothing like this.
It seems like its gradually more visible, so it took bit of time to even notice it how fade it was.
Oh, well im not sure, try to get in contact with apple, or go into a apple store.

I recommend you bring your MacBook Air to a Genius Bar at an Apple Store near you, so the techs can diagnose the problem. Even though Apple Diagnostics doesn't report anything, it doesn't mean it isn't a hardware problem. Also, if you take a screenshot, does the line appear in the screenshot? If no, it is likely to be a hardware problem, in which case you should take it to a nearby Apple Store. Take a screenshot by press and holding Command-Shift-4 and selecting an area with lines. It may be dead pixels.
I have the exact same problem! I bought my Macbook Air in May of 2014 and began noticing this problem around September just when I started school again. I have been meaning to take it to the Apple Store but I currently NEED my computer for school and can't sacrifice it being shipped off for weeks or even longer. Has anyone found a solution to this?! Or what caused it? I take such good care of my Mac so I can't seem to figure out what went wrong... although the lines are very faint, they bother me so much 😟

diagonal grey lines like watermarks appeared that are only seen in white or clear backgrounds.
Whats going on¿? this is a refurbished 2014 MBA with warranty... i have done every reset they say in support page, SMC reset... NVRAM reset... but the stripes are still there.
only 11 cycles of battery... grrrrr... 😠
This looks like a graphics card issue. I took an iPhone back to apple in November that had the same sort of issue and they replaced it as it was a graphics issue.
Ohno, i've got the same stuff happening on my 1 yo macbook air.
Did anyone find a work around outside of going to the apple genius parade?
