Q: Can't seem to log into FaceTime and iMessage, problems on Keychain Access

Hi Everyone!

I was wondering if you know how to fix this issue of mine I've been having for the past month.

Upon updating my Mac Pro to OS X 10.10, it seemed to work perfectly smooth, until one day, my User Account was nowhere to be found, along with the shared folders, but the other existing two user accounts remained. Using the other admin account, I created a new account with the same name as the 'lost' one, only to retrieve the old one. Upon checking, all apps were still there with the exemption on some of the files in the  'shared folders'. Every day, one or two files are mysterious 'deleted' until the folder only has 6 left. Glad that I have backup on those files, which gave me a sigh of relief.

Since the time I recovered my user account, I also noticed that every time I turn on my Mac from complete shutdown, it always asks for the keychain password, on whether or not to continue to log in or create a new one, or update the keychain access password. I always click continue to log in, I enter my password, and off another one of the same pop screen appears, this happens like 3 to 4 times until it asks no more. Then comes the pop-ups asking for my FaceTime password (ver 3.0), iMessage (ver 8.0), local area items, etc. It always comes asking for 3 to 4 times every time for every item. I wished it was the end of it, but when I am opening FaceTime or iMessage, it isn't logged in, instead asks for the password again, twice.

Can someone help me with this? Below are the specs for my Macbook! Thanks!

Back up all data before proceeding.

Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:

☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

☞ In the Finder, select Go Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.

Select the login keychain from the list on the left side of the Keychain Access window. If your default keychain has a different name, select that.

If the lock icon in the top left corner of the window shows that the keychain is locked, click to unlock it. You'll be prompted for the keychain password, which is the same as your login password, unless you've changed it.

Right-click or control-click the login entry in the list. From the menu that pops up, select

              Change Settings for Keychain "login"

In the sheet that opens, uncheck both boxes, if not already unchecked.

    From the menu bar, select

              Keychain Access Preferences... First Aid

There are four checkboxes in the window that opens. Check all of them. if they're not already checked. Close the window.

    Select

              Keychain Access Keychain First Aid

from the menu bar and repair the keychain. Quit Keychain Access.

If you use iCloud Keychain, open the iCloud preference pane and uncheck the Keychain box. You'll be prompted to delete the local iCloud keychain. Confirm. Then re-check the box. Follow one of the procedures described in this support article to set up iCloud Keychain on an additional device.
