Q: IPOD Nano 7G will not charge

Need some help...have had my ipod nano 7G for about 8 months now.  Everything has been working fine.  Last weekend I saw the battery was getting low and went to put it on the charger.  I didn't even notice at the time that I did not get a charging symbol.  It wasn't until that night when I pulled it off the charger I noticed the battery charge was nearly gone.

It will still turn on but will not play.  I've tried different cords, plugged into the computer and directly into wall adaptors.  I've used a lightning to 30 pin converter as well a direct lighting/USB cord.  Nothing.  I've completely exhausted my options and was hoping someone else could offer some suggestions/tips?

    Hello ArmyJacket,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

From your post I see that your iPod nano is not charging, even after trying with multple cables and different wall adapters.  You've done a great job so far with trying to isolate the issue, but there are some more steps I'd like you to follow.

    Power

Follow these steps if your iPod a power-related issue.

Will not turn on or screen remains dark

    • Connect iPod to power for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has enough charge to allow iPod to turn on.
    • If iPod does not turn on after ten minutes, try resetting it while it is still connected to power. Reset the iPod by holding down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least six seconds or until you see the Apple logo appear.
    • If the Apple logo appears on the display, connect iPod to a computer and verify that it appears in iTunes and can play music. If iPod appears in iTunes and can play music, no further troubleshooting is needed.
    • If the screen remains dark and will not turn on, then your iPod may need service.
