iPod won't sync.

I own an iPod Touch 5th Gen it is jailbroken and works perfectly, except it doesn't sync. I plug it into my MacBook Air, open iTunes, press sync and it stays on waiting for sync to start. And yes I have waited. Very long. No change. Please help 😀
