how to apply key limits to software instruments inside logic pro X from external MIDI keyboard input ?

need various software instruments tracks in logic pro x to ONLY respond to designated key limits.. OR my keyboard sends main voice on MIDI channel 1, dual voice on MIDI channel 2 and split voice on MIDI channel - can I set the software instrument tracks to only respond to MIDI channel 3 somehow? This is to use Logic in a performance setting. Have not run across a method for this yet.

Use the Key Limits section of the Track Inspector to set Key Limits. (Yellow Highlight)

Use the Midi Channel selector to.... set midi channel to a specific channel rather than All which is the default setting (Green Highlight)

Further to this, if you intend to have 2 or more tracks playing split by MIDI channel, you will need to Rec arm all the tracks, and enable Project Settings:Recording:Auto remix by channel if multitrack recording.
