Slide for Emergency - Stuck on Lock Screen

Recently on my new iPhone 6, I noticed that the battery percentage was not going down with the use of my device. I held the lock button to power off, and I turned the phone back on. When I saw the lock screen, the time was not being displayed and the "Slide to Unlock" prompt was changed to the "Slide for Emergency" prompt. After sliding to input my passcode before Touch ID could work, my passcode would not allow me to access my phone and instead, my phone vibrated once and sent me back to the slide to unlock screen. These screens seem to be very glitchy, often times not responding to wake button presses or home button presses. The screen will also often go black for no reason. My device is running iOS 8.1.2 without any jailbreaks. I've already tried turning it off and back on, and holding the lock and home buttons at the same time.

Any help would be appreciated

Try the following testing after each step

- Reset the device. Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

- Reset All Settings (Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings)

- Restore from backup. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766 (If you don't have a backup, make one now, then skip to the next step.)

- Restore as new device. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137 For this step, do not re-download ANYTHING, and do not sign into your Apple ID.

- Test the issue after each step. If the last one does not resolve the issue, it is likely a hardware problem.
