This is the image I get. I'm probably wrong but, it doesn't seem like Malware. If I ignore it it just goes away....or, if I choose install or abort it doesn't do anything. Only comes up on the gray screen during log off or shutdown.
Went through the Malware search instructions and didn't find anything. I think it's stuck in install or something. Doesn't seem to affect the performance.

Yes, this all started happening when I installed Google Chrome. After using it a bit, I uninstalled it...then this window started popping up when I would shut down or logged off. Is it possible I didn't uninstall GC all the way and that's why I'm getting this?

I have found the same thing on my system and came across a site that shared wonderful information. The problem can be resolved in most cases by downloading Malwarebytes for Mac. It's called AdwareMedic. It is Malwarebytes for MAC. I swear it is useless contacting Apple Support. Maybe IT/DC on facebook? Good luck!
