Battery Drain Issue OS X Yosemite (Inc. EtreCheck report)

Hi community,

I've been experiencing battery drain issue since upgrading to OS X Yosemite. I went from about 6-9 hours in Mavericks to Under 3 with Yosemite on my 2011 MBP 13". Here's the EtreCheck report of my system. Anyone able to see if there's any glaring problems that could be causing the drain? I don't seem to be having any runaway process or heat issues so it's got me baffled with my limited knowledge.

Thank

1. Check the cycle count of the battery against the rated life for your model. The battery may be due for replacement. If the power adapter is connected almost all the time, the battery may need replacing even though the cycle count is not too high.

2. Follow these instructions, or thesefor OS X 10.8 or earlier.

3. In the Energy Saver preference pane, uncheck the box marked

Enable Power Nap while on battery power

if it's shown (it may not be.)

4. You can also try resetting the SMC.

5. Make sure your system is up to date in Software Update.

6. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service center.

I'm kind of skeptical. I have that machine. I've upgrading mine to 16 GB RAM and an SSD. I've never gotten 9 or even 6 hours of battery life. From the technical specifications, Apple seems to be claiming 7 hours of "wireless web" battery life. I'm not sure what "wireless web" really is. But I think it is safe to say that if you are doing anything whatsoever other than "wireless web" then 3 hours is about right for that machine in 2015.

Are you using that USB wireless device much? That will drain your battery. Your TRIM enable software should not be used with Yosemite: http://www.cindori.org/trim-enabler-and-yosemite/

PeerGuardian is known to be problematic. If you are using that with torrent or other P2P software, that will drain your battery.

I'll try the recommended diagnostics/smc reset. The cycle count is in low 200s and battery is used on a regular enough basis that it gets exercised. I had it running very optimally in Mavericks and could comfortably get 7+ hours, up to 9 with everything turned down and mainly just running a word processor/PDF and some web browsing. I just put this post up really to see if there might be anything in the system report the indicated something significant but it appears not.
