Q: I pad crashes often and will fail to start up. Is there a fix?
I was playing a game on my iPad Mini 1 when the screen froze up. Pressing the home button did nothing, so I turned the device off. When it went back on, I went back into the game and it froze the same way again. I turned it off and then on again and closed all the applications. I went back into the game again and it crashed a 3rd time. I turned it off and on again, and was sliding to the settings when it froze up again. I turned it off and put it on the charger for a few hours and when I went to turn it back on, it freezes up on the apple logo or turns itself off immediately after I unlock it. What is the best fix for this problem?
Quote Ralph9430:
"The first thing to try is to quite all apps then Reset the iPad. Double click the Home button to show the screen with running and recently used apps. Each app icon will have a sample page above it. Flick up on the page (not the app icon) and the page will fly away and the app icon will disappear. This quits that app. Do this for all apps that appear there. Then reset the iPad. Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button continuously until the Apple logo appears. Then release the button and let the device restart. You will not lose data doing this. It's like a computer reboot."
This is what I have been doing, but it still fails to work. I did an iTunes reset and it started to work again for a short time, but it has started to crash again.
The first time I asked for help on this issue was 3 days ago. It has now gotten back to the point where it crashes and turns off while starting up. I know my device is out of warranty, is there any definitive way to end this issue? I fear I "bricked" it.
