why won't my new mac mini pair with my bluetooth keyboard or mouse

I bought a new mini in December. I've been fighting with getting it set up since. It refuses to see/pair with my bluetooth keyboard or mouse. How am I supposed to proceed with setup if I can't even get off the start-up screen???

The Bluetooth devices were probably paired with another computer. You need to "unpair" these Bluetooth devices before pairing with another.

Do you have a wired KB and mouse for setup? A PC mouse and KB is fine
